The international competition will gather 96 teams from seven countries, namely, Russia, India, Brazil, Iran, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and China.

The capital will host the 2 nd edition of the international Battle of Robots to be a venue for inventors from all over to share the best practices in robotics.

The competition is expected to gather 96 teams, namely, 64 teams from seven countries will compete in the category of robots weighing up to 110 kilograms, with the other 32 Russian teams from 20 regions in the mini-robots category. Their partners are major tech companies and universities.

This year, the championship will feature the Battle of Mini-Robots for the first time for teenagers aged 10 to 17 present their inventions of up to 1.5 kilograms.

The first qualifying round will take place at CSKA Arena on September 28, with the support of the Moscow Government. The winners will advance to the semi-finals and compete for the title of the 2024 Battle of Robot War Champion. The live broadcast can be viewed at the link

The competition will feature 48 one-of-the-kind robots developed in Russia, India, Brazil, Iran, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and China, the participants including 10 teams from Moscow universities, such as the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the Russian State Social University, the National University of Science and Technology MISIS, Russian University of Transport (Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers), the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics, and College of Entrepreneurship No. 11.

The Plan B team from College of Entrepreneurship No. 11 will take part in the recently introduced Battle of Mini-Robots tournament. The debutant and future experts in additive technologies engage in a variety of projects, including an electricity generating wind turbine, a remote-controlled cargo handling robot, and a robotized crane with a lifting mechanism.

The Bauman Moscow State Technical University will be represented by three teams in the qualifying round. The Gourmets team are quite experienced participants. The students supervise the robot club at their university, are part of the Robot Fight Club Russia league and also took part in the Techfest Bombay Robowars festival. For the upcoming championship, they have developed a bizarre robot stylized to look like cheese. Its parts are fabricated by the guys themselves at the university’s engineering center.

Two more teams, The Heirs of the Earth-1 and The Heirs of the Earth-2, played as one team a year earlier and reached the final with their robot Turbomash, which had remarkable outfit, engineering solutions and stylish design.

The Disintegrator team from the Russian State Social University, a regular participant in the Battle of Robots, is an example of how a passion for science and technology can unite three generations. They in fact call themselves true brainstorming geniuses and can prove that shared intelligence turns dreams into reality.

The Shredder team (Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics) have reached the championship semi-finals before. This year, participants are going to surprise their opponents not only with the robot’s capabilities, but also with its look as it will have powerful attack weapons, a strong power armor, and two diamond-coated saws.

The Atom team boast of many years of experience in the championship and other national and international robot battle competitions since 2016. At that time the team were developing combat robots and were also engaged in other projects, such as a mobile computer for special services.

The TurboMeChatronics team (Russian University of Transport) was announced Russia’s best team after last year’s championship. The students were third place winners at the Games of the Future international tournament.

Meanwhile, the Stilex team (the National University of Science and Technology MISIS) had not taken part in major competitions before — only tournament stages. It was important for them to explore other teams’ experience, support like-minded friends and get inspiration to create their own robot.

The Battle of Robots is a full-fledged international platform for inventors and the best technologists from all over the world share the best robotics practices and show off their skills. It takes place in a specialized high-tech ring, where prototypes created by participant teams inflict mechanical damage on each other in a three-minute fight. The winner is selected by the jury. The championship is coordinated by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, ANO Engineers and Robots acting as its operator.
