Marking the 30 th anniversary of Runet

The winner in the marketing and innovation promotion category was Moscow Digital Technology: Marking the 30 th Anniversary of Runet, an exhibition in VDNKh’s Smart City Pavilion. It brought together more than 30 interactive exhibits. Visitors are invited to play computer games of the 1990 s, see what the first version of the mos.ru portal looked like, find out how the history of the Active Citizen project began, and what e-services and mobile apps were first launched. The exhibition is free of charge as part of a group or with an audio guide.

In addition, an online special project for the anniversary of Runet was available on the pavilion’s website. It covers the main stages of development of the capital’s IT ecosystem: the launch and evolution of the key services.

History of Moscow in augmented reality

The winner in the augmented and virtual reality technology category was the Get to Know Moscow mobile application. It is a convenient online guide for Moscow residents and visitors, emphasized the Moscow Department of Information Technologies. It offers more than 270 walking tours, photographs and descriptions of 2,300 buildings, over 700 monuments and 485 historical sites.

Using the application, users can see what the Sukharev Tower, the Red Gate and other old buildings that have not survived to this day might look like in a modern urban environment through a smartphone camera.

The Priority Award has been given since 2015. This season, more than 100 applications have been submitted from Russian regions. Last year, the Priority: Digital award was given to Moscow value-based services on the mos.ru portal, including Together with Culture, Removal of Unnecessary Things and Moscow Libraries. The capital’s IT solutions have repeatedly received Russian and international awards: World Innovation Award, Runet Prize, AI Leaders National Award, CIPR Digital and many others.

The use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence to improve the quality of life follows the Digital Economy national program and the Digital Public Administration regional project in Moscow.
